Igniting The Power of Your Creative Mind

“Until individuals renew and change their minds on negative experiences that limit them, their future is not going to be maximized.”

Ferdinard Lawson, in his book “Igniting the power of your creative mind” teaches readers how to influence positive behaviour by discovering their full potential and renewing their mind with God’s word.

Described as a dynamic Christian who enjoys serving  God, Ferdinard ‘s thought provoking book  touches on four major areas which are the power of self discovery,  the power of using your talents and gifts to produce your desired future, how to avoid dream killers limiting your destiny and rising above limits.

What we like about the book

From the book, you can discover how to create something spectacular the world has not yet seen through the power of the creative mind. Referring to Romans 12:2 which says, “Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”, the author explains that the power of transformation “lies in assuming an outward expression that comes from the inward being. And such a change can only take place in our minds.”

Becoming a person of purpose

A person of purpose according to the author is “one whose mind is made up, has a focus and refuses to be distracted.” One of the major challenges of purpose however, is the ability to avoid dream and vision killers. Citing Elijah, Hannah, Naomi, Mary and Martha, Peter as well as Jesus Christ as examples of those who successfully triumphed over distractions and avoided dream and vision killers, the author brings out relevant lessons to be learned from their unique situations which aspiring people of purpose can learn from.

Why you shouldn’t give up on yourself

Limitations are some of the things that can hinder a creative mind from being ignited.  The author defines a limitation as “anything or anyone that prevents free movement, and they can occur due to our individual perspectives about life’s circumstances.” Irrespective of limitations, the author believes that just like Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-11 who was born with limitations to his destiny, “as we grow and mature in life, it is our responsibility to change the very things we dislike or are uncomfortable with.”

Igniting words from the book

#1 The secret of your future lies in igniting your creative mind.

#2 When your mind is ignited and directed, is working towards a specific goal and you are armed with God’s word, your future is guaranteed.

#3 The future is created by chasing your purpose in life and not relying on your pension.

#4 There is power in your creative mind to create your desired future but only if you ignite it.

#5 Ignite, set on fire, light up, activate, arouse and excite the Godly passion in you.

Ferdinard Lawson’s final advice which says, “Until you discover yourself, renew your mind, use your God given talent to add value to your generation, you have not lived to the glory and purpose of God” is a challenge for all who aspire to be great.

31 Ways to become The Proverbs 31 Woman

#9 Evolve into an effective female minister

Verse 29: Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.

I am a great fan of anyone who does the work of God with a sincere heart. However, being female myself I have a soft spot for women who teach the gospel out of pure devotion to Jesus Christ. Just like the Proverbs 31 woman, the woman who excels other women is the one whose kingdom service is recognised and accepted by God. (more…)

#7 Become a parent intercessor

Verse 28: Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her.

In these last days, the devil appears to be waging a serious war against children obviously because they are the leaders of tomorrow. Motherhood  is one of the great blessings of God and every christian mother must be equipped with the knowledge and power to lead and guide her children in the right direction . Since the feverent prayer of the righteous avails much, here are 7 prayers a christian mother must offer on behalf of her children.

  • The Prayer of Salvation: A saved child is a saved race. Saying prayers of salvation on their behalf from an early age amounts to sending forth the spirit of salvation to go ahead and catch up with them. 1 Cor 7:14 gives us the assurance “For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.”
  • The Prayer of Favour: Favour can be described as being regarded with approval. The spirit of favour has the power to make your children record effortless results and become candidates of unusual testimonies. What other children find difficult to accomplish will become extremely easy when yours are clothed with the spirit of favour. Luke 2:52 explains the operation of this spirit in the life of Jesus ” And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
  • The Prayer of Excellence: Excellent children excel physically and spiritually. The spirit of excellence operated in full measure in the life of Daniel. Daniel 1:17 says “As for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and intelligence in every branch of literature and wisdom; Daniel even understood all kinds of visions and dreams. “When Daniel was put to the test physically and spiritually, Daniel 1: 18-20 shows what the spirit of excellence can achieve “Then at the end of the days which the king had specified or presenting them, the commander of the officials presented them before Nebuchadnezzar. The king talked with them, and out of them all not one was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s personal service. As for every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king consulted them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and conjurers who were in all his realm.”
  • The Prayer of Protection: At a time when children are susceptible to various negative influences, keeping them safe requires prayers. Hiding your children in the hollow of God’s palm and asking His eyes to keep a constant watch over them will go a long way in putting the minds of parents at rest. Likewise, parents must also be spiritually alert to what the spirit of God is telling them about their children. The spirit can communicate this through mediums such as dreams, visions, the word of God or the voice of God. The joy of effective parent intercessors over their children is found in Job :12 “He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed.”
  • The Prayer of Godly Associations: Friends can either bring your children closer to God’s expected plan for their lives or take them far from it. Every parent must prayerfully examine and ask the Holy Spirit to choose friends for their children. Even if your children are already involved in ungodly associations, prayer can  dissolve such associations and help them form Godly ones. 1 Cor. 15:33 says “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
  • The Prayer of  Marriage: In my previous blog post about breaking marriages titled  Is your marriage troubled?, it has been discoverd that praying before, during and after your children’s marriage can help prevent wrong choice of marriage partners and marital failure. One of the joys of parents is to see their children happy in marriage and this is a desire which prayer can grant. Gen. 24: 12-16 shows how Abraham’s desire for his son to have a Godly wife was granted through prayer.”Then he prayed, “O Lord, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. May it be that when I say to a girl, ‘Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’—let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.” Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor. The girl was very beautiful, a virgin; no man had ever lain with her. She went down to the spring, filled her jar and came up again. The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water from your jar.” “Drink, my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink.”
  • The Prayer of Fruitfulness: One of the commands of God to his children is “go forth and multiply.” The prayer of fruitfulness  can bring this command to pass. Prayed like Hannah who was unfruitful in marriage, it is a prayer from the depths of the heart with intense passion till heaven hears and answers.

Who is a Parent Intercessor?

Parent Intercession is a ministry that requires  spirit filled believers  who are ready to devote quality time in prayer and fasting to pray for and pray out problems, unfavourable situations, disorders etc affecting a child or children. A parent intercessor could be  the mother, the father, aunties, uncles, grand parents, God parents, church elders, neighbors etc.

Children who have been raised and trained through prayer will eventually arise and call their parent intercessor blessed. A proud father of Godly children will also praise his children’s intercessors.
